Updating a kitchen – and transforming the heart of a home

This kitchen’s flooring, countertops, and cupboards were clearly outdated. But there was more to the project than just updating the features. The kitchen’s design layout dated back to the 1940s, severely limiting the homeowners’ options. We capitalized on the space’s hidden potential with an innovative design that repositioned major appliances, eliminated an unnecessary wall, and repurposed an awkwardly deep storage closet. The ultimate result is a single beautiful space that also allows for the intimate feel of two separate areas.
