The Path To Advantage

Builders at heart. That’s the best way to describe co-owners Greg Wade and Andy Schafer. Each of them has more than 20 years of experience in construction and remodeling. As teens, they were already focused on the craft of carpentry at Milwaukee Tech High School. It’s here that they first dreamed of having their own company. But before that would happen, they both spent valuable years in the field, not only learning the trade but also coming to understand this important lesson: the culmination of true craftsmanship isn’t the stunning final product – it’s the deeply satisfied client.

True Professionals in Remodeling

Greg first worked at a custom cabinetry shop and developed a specialty in high-end interior woodwork. He then deepened his skillset while a remodeling company carpenter, working on all aspects of kitchen and bathroom projects. Meanwhile, Andy worked his way up to hold lead carpenter and project manager positions for several remodeling companies. Along the way, he continued his formal training to become a NARI Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler and a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter.

When the recession hit in 2008, ironically enough, the two friends – who by now were also brothers-in-law – felt like it was time to give their dream a shot. They founded Advantage in 2009 and have never looked back, growing consistently every year, one satisfied client at a time.

The Advantage Difference

When Greg and Andy sit down with you to discuss your remodeling project, they’re not looking to “sell” you something. They listen closely, provide helpful guidance, and then apply their years of hands-on remodeling experience. The result is a realistic project design that not only reflects your vision and respects your budget but also honors the fact that it’s your new space, one meant to be a source of joy for years to come.

Your Interior Designer

Marissa Giesie | Marissa brings more than a formal background in interior design. She’s deeply interested in how the atmosphere of a space affects the way you feel. For Marissa, interior design can play a powerful role in the ultimate success of your remodeling project. That’s why helping you make thoughtful design choices about tile, cabinetry, lighting, color, and more is so important to her. Marissa’s design approach involves getting to know you personally so that your new space reflects your lifestyle and your aesthetic. If she’s not working with clients, you might find Marissa redecorating her own space, which she does at least three times a year. And when she’s not thinking about design, you can find her enjoying life by spending time with her fiance and family.
