Kitchen Remodel, Demolition to Reveal
The homeowners swung the first hammer. We photographed the rest.
An oak kitchen under a boxed-beam ceiling, opened up and rebuilt with navy lower cabinetry, white uppers, a patterned tile backsplash and a hammered copper apron sink. The family took demolition day themselves, and were photographed walking back into the finished house months later.

Project Phases
How the build actually ran
Selections settled first, then demolition — which the homeowners asked to start themselves.
01
Design & Selections
Cabinet colours, the patterned backsplash tile and fixture finishes chosen and signed off before any work began.
02
Demolition Day
The homeowners took the first swings themselves. The original oak kitchen and the wall closing it off came out.
03
Framing & Rough-In
The opened wall framed and headed, with mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-in run for the new layout.
04
Cabinetry Installation
Navy base cabinetry, white uppers and the glass-front units set, levelled and aligned, including the bar run.
05
Countertops & Backsplash
Quartz templated and installed, then the patterned tile backsplash laid and the copper apron sink set.
06
Finish & Reveal
Trim, paint, lighting and hardware completed, the site cleaned, and the family walked back into the finished house.
